Question Minimum AMD CPU needed - I do not understand AMD's naming conventions

I need to buy a laptop for a college student - what is the AMD processor I should look for?

I think in the Intel world I want and i3 or higher. I just do not know how the AMD naming works to see if AMD is a better deal. She'll use the laptop for basic college stuff - streaming Netflix, MS office, etc. She does not need any modeling or graphics software like you might need in an Engineering or Design school. Just basic web, video, and documents. And no gaming
