What is the best power supply for sli gtx 970s? I'm thinking of buying this power supply:

Corsair CX 600W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

But I not sure if it can handle two gtx 970 graphics cards. Also does it really matter if I buy a modular psu or a non-modular psu?

Thanks

As I've been running SLi'd 150w...
Modular and non-modular doesn't matter. It only helps with looks, and ease of build, favoring modular. What does matter if it's 80 plus, and what standard. Now for the SLI 970's, they have TDP of about 150 Watts. So two of these, and with other componets of that tier, you will be looking at 700-850 watts.

This means:

or much more cheap, not modular, and less effiecent, but still good

I'm currently running two 150w cards on a 620w PSU and have been contemplating replacing them with a pair of 970's and if I do I do no not intend to replace the PSU as it didn't have any any problems running two 170w cards. 700 - 850w is a bit overkill IMHO, a good quality 650w is more than enough.

Nah... Look, the cards are recommended at 500 Watt for a single. 500 + 150 is 650 Watt. unless your power supply is 100% percent efficient, (doesn't exist), you will would be risking undervolting the card or other componets. More safe to go with a 700 or 750 Watt. Also, you'll be a more high end CPU that won't bottleneck the second card. It'll take a bit more power than a CPU used for one card.

As I've been running SLi'd 150w cards on a 620w PSU and have been doing so for for quite some time now I shall disregard your reality and insert my own.

Alright my apologies. They may be running fine. It's just you don't have much headway for overclocking... you can't deny the numbers. What are your other system specs?
