I'm looking at making a super cheap rig I can just leave on while it mines. So far, while looking at what I have already, I only need a Mobo and CPU, already having 8GB DDR3 of generic RAM and a 750ti gaming. I saw some good ebay deals and picked out a Dell 200DY Optiplex 780, and an Intel Q8400. I was wondering if all the parts I listed would even be compatible, before I stupidly check out only to find out it was a waste of money.

Solution
You are worried about the parts compatibility being a waste of money, you do realize with a GPU like that you are literally going to be paying to mine Etherium. As in you will not make the money back to build it, and you will spend more to power it than you will get back.

Take your money you were going to buy this rig with, roll it up, and light it on fire, you will at least not lose as much as you would by actually building this rig.

Have you done any actual calculations regarding the amount of coin you could mine, vs the amount of electricity used?

Not concerned about that right now

Yes the parts are compatible. Mining zcash with a 750ti 24/7, you'd make approximately $7 worth of coin a month.
If you include the average cost of power in the US, and estimated power draw of this sytem, you'd lose about $23 a month after you sold your earnings.
