Hi. I decided to buy a PC instead of a new laptop since I'm home 99%.

My old MacBook screen is broken and it costs to fix literally more that the whole device. I go to the uni once or twice a year and I might need the laptop there.
By any means is there a cable that will treat my smartphone screen as an output to the MacBook hdmi?
I understand there are wifi-based ways to do this, but the one or two times I will use this laptop outside will be offline.

Sorry if this sounds ridiculous, I just need to see if there's alternative solutions other than spending money on a new laptop while I already have one.

phone doesnt take video inputs through any connectors it has, it can receive video just through wifi or as camera receiver
normal monitor wont work?
You can with a USB based capture device, but using a monitor would be more ideal here.

Thanks for your replies. Yes, I ideally use a monitor in home, but I can't carry a monitor outside. Was looking for something mobile to carry.
