Hello!

I bought a preowned AVR in April (A Sony STR-DN1080).
My previous system, a Pioneer VSX 528 has a button on the remote named "ADV surround" that allows me to listen to music in stereo mix mirrored on all the speakers in my surroundsystem.
This button and it's function seems to be missing entirely on my new system.
I figured I could find a solution by looking for alternatives at the source of the signal , my pc with OS Windows 11.

I did research on google and discovered the term speaker fill.
I haven't come further than that and the solutions I've come across are often on hardware and software that is over five years old at this point.

One solution entails entering sound in Windows, highlighting the current sound system - in this case my surround system.
Then proceed by clicking "properties", below the tab "enhancements" I have seen older systems where there has been a check box for the function "speaker fill" - but this box is missing on my system.

The other potential solution is to enter Realtek audio console.
There the function speaker fill can be found but somehow only my computerspeakers show up (A 2.1 system) despite my current speakers in Windows 11 being my surroundspeakers.

Is there any way to activate speaker fill/mirror stereo sound on surroundspeakers in Windows 11?

How come Realtek audio console doesn't detect my surround system? The drivers are up to date!

How is your AVR hooked up to your system? If you're not hooked up using an analog audio connection from the ports that are native to the Realtek audio chip, then you won't be able to take advantage of Realtek's user interface.

Thanks a bunch for your message! I have solved the issue now.
I factory reset my AVR and after realizing my trusty PS3 slim was able to utilize the 2CHANNEL/MULTI STEREO function while listening to a CD soundtrack on the console I figured it out.
My sound in Windows was configured as 5.1 surround, but after setting it to stereo it works 😀
Thanks to you providing new information my motivation to find the solution didn't dissolve.
