I bought my Ultra x4 750 Watt Modular PSU a while ago and we got two of them one for another family member after that member decided to throw his cables away without informing me I realize now I need another 6pin PCI for my Geforce gtx 970 does anyone know where I can go get 1 more PCI cable or even the whole cable kit again? (called ultra and they try to sell me another PSU) I need a six pin to go into the modular PSU and a 6 pin to go into the GPU. Thanks!

We have Ultra rated as a Tier 5 power supply. Here is what the power supply list says about Tier 5 power supplies...

Tier Five
Avoid IMMEDIATELY. These units are highly unsafe to use. No such protections added, very thin gauge wiring used, false advertising and too much to list. Reference to a higher tiered unit for a better, money saving and a much safer unit. For your safety's sake, please don't order or pick one up for use in your system. These units are a potential fire hazard and could even kill you, let alone your system.

I call that the fireball category.

Here is the next point.

On that Ultra unit, the +12 volt rail puts out 52 amps. That is 624 watts. 3 year warranty.
On a 750 watt Seasonic X-750, you would get...
Well ultra was half right, the best option is to buy a new PSU, just not one from them.

Ultra is a very low quality brand trying to sell high end parts. I would never trust it to a $200 graphics card, let alone a $350 one.

Im sure that 750w modular PSU was a great price huh?

Never go cheap on the part that can destroy everything else!

On a 750 watt Seasonic X-750, you would get 62 amps, and 744 watts. 5 Year warranty.

The fact that both are 750 watt units on the label, but the Ultra puts out 120 watts less, tells you that it is not really a 750 watt unit. A Seasonic 650 watt power supply puts out 54 amps, which is more than the Ultra 750 watt unit. What this all leads you to understanding is that Ultra is overstating the amount of power that their power supply can actually put out, and based on the Tier 5 rating in the Power Supply List here on Toms, they must be using really cheap parts, and probably only minimal protection circuits, which means that when that unit decides to blow, it will very likely damage at least some of the other things it is connected to because it has few or less protection circuits. I looked around on their website looking for any list of protection circuits, and came up empty. None.

Get yourself a good Power Supply, and it will come with the needed cables and connectors. Seasonic, XFX, and EVGA B2 power supplies are good ones.
