Missing Operating System after switching out parts

I just switched out all of my parts except hard drive and power supply. When I boot the computer it gives me the Missing Operating System_ error. I entered BIOS and the motherboard is recognizing the hard drives but I am still getting the error and unsure of how to proceed to correct it.

Yes....complete failure to boot up is often the result when doing this.

agree with above. You probably need to reinstall windows. Make sure you don't have any usb storage devices connected; they can cause this error (requires bios boot configuration changes).

Operating System is Windows 7
I should also add that these parts were my friends old parts so he used to use them and then gave them to me.
I don't have the old parts list but the new ones are:

Clean OS install in this new (used) system.

Also, check ALL of the cables and connection.
A simple "Missing Operating System" may be something not connected properly.

I just did a clean install and it seems to be working now. Thanks for the help!
