So I was updating my previous PC build by adding another M.2 SSD and another Seagate HDD. When doing this, I decided to do a refresh on Windows to clean up the build so I reinstalled Windows 11. I made an error by deleting the HDD disk drive in one of my views thinking I was cleaning up the disk drive. I am having trouble finding the 4th disk drive.

All 4 disk drives show up in Bios and in device manager, but when I go to Disk Management or File Explorer, it is not there. I have tried the following: updating the drivers in device manager, refreshing/rescanning the list in disk management, looked up hard disk info via the cmd prompt and I have even added a partition wizard to help me find the missing partitions. I can not find it.

I just tried unplugging the SATA HDD completely from MB and PSU while powered off, then powered on it wasn't there. I then replugged everything back in and into a different port on the MB (which would not be disabled due to the 2nd M.2) and powered everything back up with no luck. Any suggestions, please?

Solution
The motherboard is a MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus Motherboard. I would have to check the bios version when I get home.
Check windows Storage Spaces (Control Panel\Storage Spaces).
Show screenshot.

If your Seagate 2TB drive appears there, then remove it from pool and delete pool.

If you deleted the drive while in the OS installation windows whereby you select what to do with the drives/partitions that show up, then you've effectively deleted the partition. You might want to contact a data recovery specialist in case there's mission critical data on the drive that you're not seeing. One thing to note, it's for this reason why we advise people power down, disconnect all drives except the one you intend to install the OS on. It also avoids any mishaps whereby partitions necessary for the OS are not spread across other drives in the build.

Hi there and Happy New Year. I did actually unplug this HDD drive and another HDD drive while doing the OS install. The OS install is on my SDD which is fine. The 4th drive that is missing is just spare storage which is ok if items were deleted from it. I just can't seem to find the disk drive or even initialize it so that it can be recognized within Windows. I have some photos of my screens but can't figure out how to add them.
