Missing sm bus controller in device manager

Missing sm bus controller in device manager asus gryphon z87 I cant find the driver to fix this

You may still not have any luck though, don't worry about it, it's not something you really need.

I have tried the chipset drivers on the asus page but they either installed or said they wasnt for my board everything is working every test i can throw at it passes but its really annoying to fell like ive missed a step

If it says they aren't for your board, you should double checck what motherboard you have.

Maybe it just needs a BIOS update?

I have the latest bios it hasnt been updated since 2014 I am out of options so I came here IM ready to stop caring if it wasnt for device manager I wouldnt even know its working like a charm

uhh, disconnect ALL your peripherals maybe.
it may be one of them.

No it wasnt that I have disabled it in device manager now, if it throws up an issue maybe that will lead the way ill update if relevant and leave this open till its sorted .Thanks James and merry christmas

Missing sm bus controller usually means you have not installed the Intel Management Engine driver. It is found in Downloads>Chipset.

Thanks but I have successfully installed that (Intel Management Engine Interface V9.5.15.1730 for Windows 32/64bit 7 & 32/64bit 8 & 32/64bit 8.1.(WHQL))
