Hi,

Quick question, is it possible to set up a parent-child relationship between the 2000/2003 and NT4 domains?

dcpromo seems to have problems when I try to set up a 2000 PDC as a child of the existing NT4 domain. Is there some kind of add-in or a package that would enable that?

If possible please point to the appropriate documentation on the microsoft website for a reference.

Thanks,

NT 4.0 has no clue what a "parent child" relationship is. You can only
create a "parent child" relationship with NT 4.0 and Win 2k/ Win 2k3 domains
in NAME only.
Example:
NT 4.0 Internet domain of mydomain.com. You create an AD domain named
ADdomain.mydomain.com. It would be in name only. The AD domain would be
installed as the first DC in a new domain/forest. No connection to the
mydomain.com needed because they are related in name only. The NT 4.0 domain
knows nothing about the AD domain and as far as the AD domain is concerned,
it knows nothing about the NT 4.0 domain.
