Mixing 2 different RAM sticks? or not?

The default ram in my laptop is 2x Samsung 4GB 1332hz and recently I bought a 8GB stick of 1600hz and just replaced with one of my old cards.
Noticed a little increase in performance for about 3 days since then. And just like a hour ago during loading the usual same game again my "pc run in to problem" and just shuts off. This has never happened before.
I found out on this forum that mixing different capacity and hz cards will make system unstable and decrease the performance? So what do I do now? is it better that I use only the single 8GB 1600hz stick over the two 4gb's 1332hz?

Yes it is not recommended for mixing sticks with different brand/model/speed, but in theory u can do that anyway.
If you mix a 1333mhz stick with a 1600mhz, then both sticks will run at the lower speed.
Go with the single 8gb if problem still exists and get yourself another 1600mhz stick :)
