My Abit KT7A mobo has just blown up, and in looking for a replacement
I'm interested in the Gigabyte 7VT600P-RZ (which uses a KT600
chipset). This will be my first mobo with DDR RAM, and I'm confused
about how it co-resides with the CPU.
I have an Athlon XP2400+ CPU, which has a FSB of 266MHz. The question
is, can I use faster memory alongside this CPU? For example, if I just
plug in the XP2400 and some PC3200 RAM, will the mobo auto-detect
things and set up the correct speeds? Or should I stick to PC2100?
Thanks.
