I have few mkv files what are lagging while playing. In VLC after a while after lot of glitch and pixels goes haywire and screen freeze but audio goes well. in MPC player video runs smooth after a while video and audio goes in slow motion and audio comes after pause all time. but BUT this happens after few minutes all time. and see duration and close it and after sometime open it it works smooth for few minutes on duration when this happened. but after a while same things happens. tired of googling didn't find answer. so here I am

Solution
You could try new video codecs. K-Litehas a nice package and their codecs are great. You probably just need the "Standard" one. Accept most defaults (make sure not to install anything you don't want) and you should be good to try it out. Your laptop also has a fan, use some canned air and blow it out to make sure it's not getting too hot. Laptops are really bad about that. Blow it in any holes and you'll see lots of dust flying out if you have never done it. Trust me, it's worth it!
It could be many reasons. Like your PC specs (RAM, CPU, ect) and such. Did you make the videos or download them? Are all mkv files doing this or just these few (maybe from the same person who doesn't do a good job of encoding them)?

IF the videos start off fine, then start getting worse, it kind of sounds like your PC may be overheating? When is the last time you opened the case and took some canned air or an air compressor (careful of blowing loose connected cables haha) and cleaned it out? Overheating is the biggest reason or freezes or lockups (when the PC has been running fine for months then all of a sudden it's freezing). Blow out ALL the fans, PSU, case fans, video card fan, and especially CPU fan!

Its not about specs. I am using Laptop C700. I know its Old but not because of that. All other movies and stuff work fine. And i was talking about this series i have. And faced this problem with other movies also. And deleted them but i am thinking to solve this issue now. Thing is it does not fix when this happen. Sometime it happens on xx time but sometimes it later. Will converting it to other format will help ? Or any other solution for this ?
