Which is more important for MMORPG games?

Vote and give me opinions on these 2 build. Pick 1 or 2

1. i3-2100 and AMD 7870 2GB(come out in March i hope)

2. i5-3750K and AMD 6780 1GB

I would take a very solid 2GB card along with a solid quad core if you play wow and multibox. Multibox means running two or more clients open at once. Quad core cpus are more or less the standard of the times when dual core are barely getting by. Dual core cpus are often easily taxed in multitasking and some apps alone can make some cringe. Eight threaded quads are not catching on for most at the moment so don't look to much at an expensive overpriced i7. I got an i5 and a phenom 2 x4 so I know how they both hold up.
The i3 2100 is a great buy (2120 can be had for the same price, look around). I run an i3 2120 in my gaming rig with a 6870, and it is a total beast for SWTOR, around 100 FPS with everything maxed at 1080p.

That said, I wouldn't buy a dual core CPU right now, even though I admit the i3 is still a VERY strong CPU for all of today's games. I think in the next year the quad core and above will really start showing their worth over dual cores. Of your choices I'd go with the i7, though I really think you should consider an i5 instead, the i7 is not better for gaming than the i5 by any appreciable amount.

I meant to put i5-3750K...

Okie this is what i have in mind for the new Ivy Bridge system.

i5-3750K processor
AMD 7870 2GB
128Gb Crucial M4 SSD
500Gb Western Digital 6.0Gb/s
1000W Silverstone 80 plus silver
Asus Maximus IV Gene/Gen3 mobo
8GB Corsair Vengeance 1600
CM Enforcer case

I would take the i5 with a lesser video card over an i3 setup. the i5 2500k was pretty much the best gaming CPU to buy for the last year, and will continue to be solid foundation for a high end beast machine for 1-2 more years, or more. I see no reason to believe the new i5's won't be just as good. The i3 is a great CPU if you are looking to make the best gaming machine you can for $5-600. Once your budget gets much above that, the i5 becomes the best additional upgrade you could make.

all of this is simply my opinion of course from doing lots of reading and research. I bought an i3 just a few short months ago, and I can already see I made a mistake by saving $$ to buy the i3. I will end up with an i5 shortly after Ivy Bridge is released, either a discounted 2500k, or the new Ivy Bridge if it is significantly better.
