mobile workstation (inte xeon, nvidia quadro) or gamer workstation (general cpu and gpu) for autocad & revit?

i dont need a specific answer just for most cases what is preferred.

More cores (whitout a massive drop in single core performance) is preferable. So you'll have too look at that.
In terms of gpu. The one with the most raw power is the one you want to go for.

In AutoCAD, GPU is entirely irrelevant. In Revit, Puget Systems benchmark shows that aside from professional drivers, any specification is irrelevant (K6000 did as well as a K620).
 


Autocad is a more cpu intensive program (unless you use the more specialised gpu renders). Revit on the other hand balances nicely between the 2 and a better gpu will help quite a bit in rendertimes (except for a couple of very specific renders).
 


Odd between my k4000 and k5000 machine (both with the same x5650 cpu and whatnot) there is quite the difference in workflow and rendering. Probably because they are quite a bit older.
