Mobo - Fan Problem

When I shut down my pc the power button doesn't work until I play with the case fan cable on the motherboard or the fan itself. There are 2 slots that i see to use the fan and that doesn't make any difference if I use the other one. If I unplug it and wait a bit then I can open the pc but that's not really consistent aswell. Sometimes I have to try for 15 minutes to get it on. Does anyone have experience about something like this? Is this about the fan or the motherboard?

I would check the front panel connectors to make sure there pushed down all the way. I don't see how a case (CPU?) fan would prevent it from starting unless it was shorting.

Just remembered, some motherboards won't start if they sense the CPU fan isn't plugged in. You might have a bad connection or failing fan. Try another fan and see if that works.

No its not the CPU fan, the case fan

Does it boot with the fan unplugged?

Sometimes, maybe that doesnt even effect it tho
