Hello guys,
I'm in need for some advice. I asked for a pc build earlier this year and I won't go into much detail but the important things are the mobo and the gpu.
(s)he told me that all the parts are compatible, but after some passed and I started looking for more information about computers I found out that the chosen motherboard, which is a msi h81m e33 (yes I know it's cheap but I don't need more features, as long as it works it's good enough for me) only has 1 pci e slot, or 1 slot for a gpu.
But when I read that, I remembered that the r9 280 needs 2 slots. Does this mean it doesn't fit? Or does it actually fit in a way I'm not familiar with?

Note: this will be my first build so I just want to make sure I buy the right parts.

thanks in advance,
Sep

What it means is that the card will take up two expansion slots on the case, but one PCI bus on the motherboard.

Hi,
What do you mean by the R9 280 needs two slots?

The R9 280 needs just one PCI Express x16 slot, which the MSI H81m E33 does have.
They are compatible.

They should be fine together.

According to the site I was going to order, the card requires two pci express x16 slots. I would send a screenshot but I'm on my phone now and it is in Dutch. That is why I asked, but thanks for telling me they are actually compatible, it's quite a relief.
