Hey all,

I've been troubleshooting a problem and I'm at a bit of a dead-end.

About a month ago I started to have a problem with my 3rd m.2 hard drive not being recognized. No harm so foul, so I though, because a restart would pick it right back up. Now the problem has become more frequent and intermittent. To pile on now my USB ports are doing the same thing. My first though was mobo drivers/firmware, but those are all up to date. I'm still waiting on a more recent update to fix the problems intel has had going on, but I have the most recent one they've put out.

I've swapped the drives around to rule them out and it's always the drive furthest away from the CPU in the bottom slot.

Best case I'm thinking is the processor is bad, but would that cause intermittent problems with the USB and m.2 lanes? I've been holding off on the RMA for my processor even though it's in the range for intel's recall; I just can't afford to not have my computer working for the duration of mailing it back and getting a new one.

I'm afraid it's the mobo since it controls all those functions, but that's worst case scenario, because now I'd have all the problem that go along with intel's 13th gen AND have to shell out for a new motherboard.

Anyone run in this? Maybe a quick fix I'm missing?

The power supply also controls all those functions.

Just to get it out of the mix remove the gpu and connect to the igp....test.
