Is Friends old case, I believe the midgard or variation of:
https://xigmatek.manymanuals.com/computer-cases/midgard/installation-guide-29702

Mobo is:

Tbh I guess I can't guarantee that the standoffs even came with that case. However they are identical to my other unknown atx case that housed my recently expired mobo that held my 2500k. Same era maybe?

Can I use the bigger ones without risk of shorting mobo? Surely only shortable if i used too short ones?

Thankyou.

Ohhh, perhaps the mobo never included standoffs, and I made a bad assumption. So the bigger ones are safer to use right? I thought they were mostly all still approaching being universal.
Safer, if they match the size already in the case itself. Easy to check. Just compare the height of what you have to what is installed.

Motherboards don't come with stand-offs, cases do.

The things included with motherboards are for m.2 SSDs. Different fit altogether than motherboard/case stand-offs.

Great, Im safe then, thanks. A few of his screws lost their thread, but the standorff that were already there definitely held a working computer. If my extra ones are the same then I'm good, and I believe them to be :)

You can buy spare motherboard standoffs if necessary.
https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-Brass-Motherboard-Standoffs-Computer/dp/B00213KL5I

For a bit more, you can buy a large box full of mounting hardware.
https://www.amazon.com/Computer-Motherboard-Standoffs-Universal-Installation/dp/B0B2NWZDBG

They typically come with 6-32 or M3 threads. I have some rather strange standoffs with with 6-32 (coarse thread) at one end and M3 (fine thread) at the other end.

You can generally "re-tap" a smaller M3 hole in a computer chassis by winding in a 6-32 with a bit of extra force. Look out for nasty metal swarf though.

Just make 100% certain you don't fit a metal standoff where there isn't a matching hole on the motherboard. A direct short down to chassis through a mis-placed standoff can kill a motherboard.
