Ok I'm doing a build for a friend of mine, $500 CAD limit and he would like it to be decent for editing and rendering video's. In any day I would pick gpu but that may not be a good idea with this.

I wa thinking of telling him to knock the limit up a bit to get a cheap gpu. But would it be worth a cheap gpu or just use the mobo vga?

the psu i chose with the intention for a gpu upgrade, this one would be good too if that gpu wasn't too power hungry like a r9 270X or imo even a gtx 760,

No windows in this build, does he need that?
