Modem popped in thunderstorm, did I destroy my router?

Got new modem, it now works when I plug directly pc to new modem but my router setup no longer works... is there a way to test if it was destroyed by lightning also? The modem popped and flashed and had a smell - lights still on the router - edgerouter X.

It was plugged into a surge protector.

plug the router to the new modem

I did.. Then I unplugged it and put it in modem to bypass router and that worked, whereas the router didntwork though the lights worked and came up fine.

Is it a hardware issue? an IP issue?
