[SOLVED] Modem router

Solution
I recently bought this new modem router. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y3XQ8M9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It claims this router claims it can run up to 1.3 gig speeds. I pay for 1 gig. Xfinity claims this router does not run up to 1 gig. I run speed test and get 650 mbps. and 5 upload. Is xfinity scamming me?
WIFI is 1/2 duplex. That means that it can only transmit OR receive. So even if could get 1300Mbit link rate the throughput would be 600Mbit. If you can't get gigabit througput on a wired connection, then this device might not be up to the task. I went to the Xfiniti page -- https://www.xfinity.com/support/devices/#unauth and searched for that device. Xfiniti only...

Did you see the reviews on the link you provided? While dated, there seem some doubts regarding this devices ability to operate at gig+ speeds.

Have you checked the device (while logged in as admin) to see if there is an available firmware for it? This is a possibility to improve performance.

That sounds exactly like the performance you are getting.

You bought the wrong device.

Even if the specs of a device are in excess of what your isp is providing, your isp has to support the device in order to have it run at maximum speeds. Comcast posts a list of supported devices. You should have checked that first.
