Question Modern Warfare/Warzone is unplayable,

PC Specs:
GPU: GTX 1060 3GB
RAM: 16GB (2x8)
CPU: i5-8500
(75Hz) 1920x1080

I used to be able to run MW fine where I was limited by my internet connection sometimes, but I have a new internet provider now which is a lot faster. The game seems only playable on multiplayer when I have it on windowed but doesn't work on warzone. I get FPS drops when I try to move my mouse but alt tab-ing out of the game puts it back to normal until I get back onto the game. I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it but nothing changed and so I haven't played it for a while. Could anyone help? Thanks.

What is your cpu usage when at Windows desktop? If another process is hogging cpu resources that would cause problems as you don’t have any to spare with your cpu in MW or Warzone.

Well on the temp, at the moment it is 72 deg but it has been at 50 or so.

It says that my cpu usage is around 4-5% so I think that's okay.

I'm confused as to why it works better in windowed. I know that it is probably just easier to run but it seems like it shouldn't be that much improved.

That could be caused by a virus that you picked up somewhere. Are you the only person that uses that computer? If so, have you opened a website or attachment that you didn't mean to anytime in the recent past?

I did a quick scan on windows settings, would that be enough?

I'm looking at that GPU, and the 3GB VRAM is almost certainly your bottleneck. Would explain why minimizing the game increases performance for a short while (since the VRAM gets flushed).

My recommendation is to set pretty much everything to lowest settings to try and take as much strain off the GPU as possible.

Thing is though, I used to be able to run it well with high graphics... maybe it was from all the updates that made it change but I don't know if that could change my performance so much. Also, it can't be a lack of storage space, (I have over 100GB free).
