I have a pretty cheapy fan, here it is: http://miniimg1.rightinthebox.com/images/384x384/201402/bxycoo1393407747689.jpg

Amazing right? Anyway, there's one female molex and one male molex coming out of it. My PSU has only a female molex cable which I looked up to the the male fan molex. These are all 4 pins btw.

On my PSU molex cable, there's a bunch of other female molex things and also a 4 pin fan connector for the Mobo.

I'm so confused what I have to connect and not to connect.

1) Do I connect that 4 pin connector to the motherboard?

2) Why is the fan so slow (running at such low RPM)? It runs ridiculously low, like at 20% of my other fans.

Thanks

NEVER connect that 4-pin smaller connector to anything. It is NOT a fan connector. It is a POWER SUPPLY connector for a 3½" floppy drive. I'm guessing you do NOT have one of those (many don't today) or you'd already know. So do not use it for anything.

The reason your fan has a female 4-pin Molex also is to replace the one from the PSU that you "used" for this fan, so you don't run out of Molex connectors to use. That way you can power several such fans from one PSU output.
