QUICK QUESTION

IS IT SAFE ? GOOD? TO USE A MOLEX ADAPTER FOR YOUR GPU ?

IF NO WHY NOT ?

DO I CONNECT 2 MOLEX CONNECTORS TO THE ADAPTER OR JUST 1 ?


YES I BROUGHT A NEW PSU, BUT FOR THE TIME BEING....

No it's not a good idea. If you need adapters the PSU wasn't built to run video cards.

It's a sign of a low quality power supply.

What is the gpu. If it uses under 110 watts you are safe. The molex can only deliver 40 watts over the 75 from the pcie slot. Normal 6 pin can deliver more.

i have a 500 psu and the gpu is rx 460 4gb

A 500W PSU with no PCIE cables to run a card , is a sign it's very low quality.

its from a pre built pc. brought from game.co.uk 2 years ago £500 aprox.
so im not sure if its safe to use the molex adapter u can buy from currys.

my cx500 has enough 6 pins etc... but this 500 psu doesn't ? so can i use the adpter ? has the same watts ??/

Watts don't matter , it's about the quality and real capabilities of the PSU. A 500W with no PCIE cables is a sign that you shouldn't run a card with it.

Being from a Pre-built it's even more likely it's not up to the task.
