When you do this, be sure to boot into safe mode, uninstall the graphics drivers, re-boot into safe mode, and use a program called Driver Fusion to get rid of any straggling remnants of the drivers that the uninstall missed. Repeat this until Driver Fusion sees no remnants of any graphics drivers from Intel, Nvidia, and AMD/Ati. Then and only then should you re-install the newest version of the graphics drivers. Doing it this way ensures that no remnants from previous drivers conflict with newer versions.
