Bought a new monitor. Can't get it on 75 Hz. Can't change it using windows also not on Nvidia control panel ( always 60 Hz). Even if I lower the resolution. The resolution I have is 1920-1080. Windows said it is a Generic PnP monitor. I am using a VGA cable but also using a cable to convert it to HDMI. I thought this might be the problem.

Specs:
Windows 7 64 bit
8 gb RAM DDR 3
Geforce 750 TI
AMD A10-6800K with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics 4.10 GHz

How to set it to 75 Hz?

Connect it with a good quality Display Port cable.

Connect it directly without active adaptors. Those can cause this issue. No idea what ports your monitor or version of the 750ti have since you did not specify the model for either so can't help you further with that until you provide more info.

Hi EmielBakkur, I dont see what monitor you are trying to set to 75Hz, but if it supports 75Hz it is definitely to do with the VGA cable.
VGA is also an analog cable and you will get much better clarity and possibly visibly better colours using a DVI or DP (Displayport) or HDMI cable. Either 3 should work.

I use an LG25UM58 which is a 2560x1080 widescreen monitor that supports up to 75Hz. It only has HDMI ports and my older work PC only has DVI ports and I bought a DVI to HDMI cable and it works perfectly even with the cable conversion at 75Hz.
75Hz should show up in the dropdown if the correct cable is used. Avoid VGA if at all you can.
Hope this Helps,
Gabor

The monitor: Acer KG221Qbmix - Gaming Monitor
GPU: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 750 Ti

I'l go buy a HDMI cable then cause I don't have one.
