Monitor and connection

I'm looking at getting a new monitor and was looking at the Dell e2414h 24" monitor and just wanted to know if it's good?
Is DVI as good as hdmi?

What output ports does your GPU have? I'm assuming you have a DVI and a HDMI port.

HDMI carries both the audio and video signal whereas DVI only carries the video signal. Personally I would use HDMI over DVI, but the latter should work just fine for you if there is no speakers in that monitor(provided it has DVI port), or if you're going to use standalone speakers via 3.5mm audio jack.
