Hello
I've recently upgraded my tv and monitor to OLED.
My new monitor is an Alienware aw3423dwf and the tv is a Samsung s90c.
And sometimes the PC stops recognizing the tv and the only solution is to uninstall GPU drivers with DDU and installing them again.
The monitor sometimes is losing signal after turning it on via it's power button, and the only solution is to reboot the PC via the reboot button.
Both these problems occur randomly and I can't recreate them on a whim,it's seemingly completely random.
I've tried reseating the GPU and RAM to no avail..
Full specs:
Intel 12700KF
MSI GeForce RTX 3080 10 GB
16 GB DDR4 3200mhz
Win 10
Nothing is OC..
Any help would be appreciated..

Are your HDMI cables rated for HDMI 2.1 (48gbps) bandwidth?

DP acts really weird with multiple displays and disconnecting them. The only way I've not had issues with mine is second screen and TV hooked up with HDMI and primary display DP. I also turn the DP screen on before the PC and never turn it off if the PC is on. I'm not sure if any of this will be applicable to your problem as it seems rather odd, but it's something you may not have tried.

I don't know about the rating of the cable but I do know they worked perfectly normal with my old monitor/tv,they had zero issues.
Everything's started after I upgraded both displays.
The monitor is connected via a DP 1.4 cable and the tv is connected via a HDMI cable.
One thing I think is worth noting is these problems started after the PC was turned off for about 4 days, since then these problems started..

That's pretty meaningless unless your old TV had the same specifications resolution/refreah/HDR as this new one.

What is the resolution and refresh rate of the TV set to while connected to the computer and is HDR enabled?

If it's 4k/120hz (or more) or 4k/60hz (or more) with HDR then you need to have a proper cable to run it.

I see..
Thanks for the response.
The tv is set to 4k@144hz with HDR on.
I'll try buying a new cable for the tv.
Also I thought about maybe trying DP to HDMI cable, see if it helps.
Any idea about the issue with the monitor?

DP to HDMI should act the same as just a regular HDMI cable so the only thing it would really test is the port on your card. I'm assuming your old TV was connected via HDMI so I'm not sure that would tell you much, but the bandwidth is likely different so it's not an impossibility that this is an issue.

The monitor issue I'd think may be just weirdness with DP. It would be worth checking to make sure you have the latest firmware as I know Dell has been pretty good with fixing issues on that model. You've already tried other cables which would be the other primary thing I'd think of for troubleshooting.

edit: I forgot to mention HDMI 2.1 has more bandwidth than DP 1.4 so for the TV it might be problematic

As a Dad with a son that keeps pushing the video cable issue that's my son.
We went through a few cables and it turned out to be two things. One was a higher end 4k cable and the other was when we were in the heat of figuring out his issue it was Windows 10 did not play nice with the HDR on his 65 inch 4K TV from computer.

Our solution yes the cable for 4k but Windows 11 out of the box is made for HDR where as far as our problem Windows 10 had issues.

I will say this all 4k cables are not all up to par with the HDR.

It's been just over three years since I bought that cable for him and problem free. I do remember is was off Amazon though.

At 6:45 seconds is where there is some good info on video cables above but worth watching the whole video to get a great understanding of what cable and why.

Yes I have the latest update installed M3b107
Also worth noting is these problems started pretty much after the PC was turned off for a couple of days.
Also since posting the original thread I've also tried reseating the CMOS battery from the mobo, updating bios and turning off fast boot bios.
I've been reading and seeing it might be a problem with the power settings of the PC or maybe a faulty GPU(hope not cause I really don't want to buy a new GPU now).
Anyone has any thoughts on that?
