New monitor headphone jack not working, using with xbox one connected via hdmi. Also the bilt in speakers work, no way of disabling them besides turning volume to zero - may that is it? And inherent manufacturing flaw in this model?

Also - I have an hdmi audio extractor box that will give my access to a 3.55 line in to get around this - but if I want a lot of system configured together with display - I can imagine this being an expensive complicated mess - if done without decent planning. Also wondering how much I should as newegg to ding back to me as compensation if I plan on keeping it, Im going to go for $50 - as this just kills any reasale value.
