So i need a new monitor and im deciding between a 1080p 144hz

Or a 1440p 60hz monitor.

PC Specs-
6700k stock
Asus gtx 980ti
16gb ddr4 3000mhz

I dont really know if id even be reaching 144 fps so i feel like the 1440p monjtor would be better. Also, i dont know anything about freesync or gsync but if i get the 1440p cant i put the the game at gsync?

Solution
okay i wrote a really long and detailed report but when i pressed post my internet disconnected S:

anyway the summery was that the 1440p reports less faults then the 144hz monitor and that i recommend the 1440p monitor because of its resolution, its isp display for accurate colours and its versatility. i should warn you that the internal frame is made of plastic so be very careful with it
depends on if you play competitive FPS or not. IMO 144hz on an FPS is a life changer.

RPG games that don't need such a high refresh rate I would vote for 1440p though and maybe 27inch instead.

racing games are a toss up as 144hz would really be noticeable at high speed racing but 1440p would give some really nice visuals

I mainly play stuff like CSGO, Rainbow 6, Open World Games, And alot of single player story games. It seems like a 1440p; monitor would be better since I dont play any competitive games.

Okay. Thanks.
