Question Monitor flicking on and off

For the past few days my moniter has been flickering on and off, it happens nonstop and I realise the flickering is matching the power light on my monitor. The flicker on and off is fast with 2 seconds inbetween each flicker. I manage to narrow it down to the cable connecting to my monitor, I have to plug it in and out until it stops flickering. This has not happen before so I am not sure if it is the cable issue or its my monitor issue. But to plug in and out the cable to my monitor each time I turn on my PC is annoying. As I have to do this until the screen stops flickering.

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:

OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

Might want to see if replacing the cable with another helps alleviate the issue.
