Monitor For Gaming

So I will be soon purchasing a new monitor and was wondering what you would recommend. I will be spending around £170/$250. I have seen an Asus VE247H which seem pretty good, what would you guys recommend?

I got a VE278Q for $250. I haven't checked current prices but if you can find one at that range I would recommend it, particularly since it's 27" so you'll get a little extra real estate on the screen.
