Monitor gets shadow effect

Have a reoccurring problem with my display..get a shadow to right of print or image on screen. Can only clear this by unplugging cable from monitor. Vista home Premium. Lenovo PC and monitor

Do you have Clear type enabled perhaps?
Under control panel->display->effects.

The only time I see "ghosts" or "shadows" is when I specify the vertical sync and horizontal sync refresh rates beyond that which the monitor can support.
Also try moving the cable around.

Try a different monitor and video card.
