Question Monitor goes black

Just today I started getting this issue where my monitor goes black when playing games. The frequency of the issue increased a ton aswell since I noticed it. I am really not that savy and I am also on a strict budget so I would love any kind of help to diagnose this issue so I dont screw myself. Please help me lol.

Please start with your full system specs.

Does the screen just go black, with everything still appearing to be running? Or does the system shut off?

Does sound remain, or do you lose that too?

Could be anything from a driver issue or conflict, through to hardware defect. Not enough info available to judge at this time.
