monitor is blank

I purchased new components for my pc .......
I5 processor
Asus p8h61m-k mobo
4 gb ram
Seasonic s12g 550 w psu
I have connected all the components and decided to install the bios.......but when i start my system the whole cpu works.....but my monitor shows ''d sub power saving mode '' and then its blank....nothing on the screen ....

It is possible that the I5 that you have does not support on-board video you would have to check the model of i5 you have and read up on it. For example the Core-i5-3350P does not have graphics on the chip. That would cause it not show anything on your screen. The easiest way to fix this would be to get a cheap graphics card or replace the chip. That is what I think could be wrong.
