Monitor keeps flickering at 144hz 1080p

Hello, so I've had this issue for a while and couldn't find a way to solve it on my own.

I'm using an AOC g2460pf monitor with an Asus GTX 1070 gpu.
Here's what I've tried:-updating monitor drivers
-updating/using older gpu drivers
-switching between hdmi and dvi-d connectors
-reinstalling the display drivers

If one of you could help me, it would be highly appreciated.


edit: I've also tried using the experimental drivers for the monitor

Ok, turns out I'm retarded and that I only needed to change the dvid cable with a dp one
