Monitor lag: Under light load, what to do

My monitor is really been lagging lately. I haven't been doing anything intensive, all I'm doing is watching youtube videos in 720p yet it still lags. In fact, as I'm writing this the input is lagging as well. And it's definitely a noticeable lag.

Monitor: Benq RL2455HM

GPU: MSI GTX 760 TWINFROZR 2GB

CPU: Intel Core i5 4670K

Mobo: Gigabyte Z87X-D3H

So while I'm playing a video, typing, etc. It will suddenly freeze for about 5-10 seconds and then speed up to where it should be. Some seconds later, it will do the same thing.
