Monitor making random clicky sounds

Hello, so I am having this problem with my Asus VC239H monitor, while I was using it, it started making random clicky or tap sounds near the buttons. At first I thought it was the speaker but the audio jack is unplugged, then I turned the monitor off which obviously stopped the clicky sounds. What I did then is that I unplugged my DVI cable then the clicky sound stopped. It seems that the clicky sound only happens when the monitor is outputting a display. The monitor clicky sounds only happens after more than an hour of using and the last time I used it the clicky sounds are no longer random and the clicky sounds are in a faster rate. Please help, thank you.

I will hazard the thought that the problem is heat related and that due to expansion some internal sparking is taking place.

No recent "tip-overs", hard bumps, etc. that could have caused physical damage?

Check that all the cooling vents are clear of obstructions and as much dust as possible.

Try some additional cooling (e.g., a small fan) just for testing. See if the problem stops or is delayed.

Push some of the buttons when the clicking is occuring. See if one particular button is involved. (Note: may reconfigure your monitor so be deliberate about the process so you can go back if necessary.)

If possible try another power supply and DVI cable just to eliminate some flaw therein showing up as the "click" - just to be thorough about it all.

I handled the monitor carefully I'm sure there are no damages. For the cooling vents, all vents are clean although I think the clicky sounds are close to the vents. For the fan cooling I used our biggest fan and kept the airflow straight to the monitor but it didn't work. I tried pushing some buttons but it seems that the buttons had nothing to do with the clicks.

The power supply part is where I am a bit confused. Are you referring the desktop PSU? Sorry I am not really good at these problems although I think you're referring to the monitor's power supply since I've heard monitors have those. The last that I can recall about what could possibly damage it is one night while I was playing the power went out because of the stormy weather, although I plugged the monitor and the PC to the AVR this may be the cause but I will leave it to you for conclusion. Were you able to try another DVI cable?

Listen to the sound very carefully: see if the sound may be more of a snap than click. Snap (or pop) meaning some internal spark. Turn out the lights and look in the monitor vents to see if there is any visible sparking.

However, if the problem started right after the power outage then maybe some damage was done when the power went out or returned.

Now that you mentioned the snap or popping sounds, it does sound more like that. I haven't tried a different DVI cable cause I don't have any extra but I guess the problem could be the power supply although I can't see any sparks in the vents but the popping sounds are more like internal sparking. Thanks again for the help 😀, this is a problem that the warranty can solve atleast I can specify to the Asus Customer service what exactly is the problem.
