Monitor "no signal" Problems

Hi,

I recently bought a new Packard Bell which runs Windows 7 and a new Acer monitor.

Sometimes when i switch everything on the monitor says "no signal" and switching off then on again has no effect. To solve the issue I have to hold the power button for 3 secs to turn off the tower and try again.

I don't like using the power button turn off method so I memorised the keyboard commands necessary to select shutdown once the pc reaches the windows login screen. However, usually when the PC starts up fine it beeps before the login is displayed but when the no signal failure occurs there is no beep and the commands don't work so i don't think the pc is starting windows properly.

Any help/suggestions to stop this would be appreciated.

Hi, thanks for replying.

I haven't tried it on another PC mainly because I don't have access to a 2nd PC and secondly the problem occurs randomly.

I have unplugged and reconnected but it still happens.

I checked the drivers and the Acer website only lists Vista driver downloads, as for BIOS my PC knowledge doesn't extend that far.

With regard to a memory problem I don't see how as sometimes it runs perfectly.
