monitor not active when boots up

Monitor only active once in windows. no option to enter bios. ive tried pressing del, f2 etc on boot up while monitor is off but it just stays off. tried to connect to tv but same issue.

i5 660
intel motherboard
2 x 2gb ddr3
windows 7 pro 64 bit
lg25inch ultrawide (hdmi cable) monitor only has 2 hdmi ports

Why cant I see intel splash screen? The monitor is only active once booted in Windows

Ok so I figured it out. I was using an hdmi to dvi adapter because my mobo doesnt support hdmi and monitor only supports hdmi. I used an old tv using vga and was able to boot in to bios. I then bought gtx 750 installed drivers and now it boots up with splash screen and option to boot into bios with lg25inch monitor
