monitor not coming on

Have an old computer that had a dual video card but it broke so I
installed another video card but not a dual one. Now I only get a
black screen when I turn on the computer. Anyone have any ideas of
what I can do?

Do you have another video card to test the motherboard out with? It's quite
possible the computer's motherboard went bad. You're going to have to
troubleshoot each item one by one. You're going to have to remove any and
all devices that are connected to your motherboard. Just leave the memory,
processor and the video card in there. Check to see if you can get it to
boot that way. If not, you're going to have to try and replace each main
component out with another one to test and see which one is giving you the
problem.
