Question Monitor only has signal when it starts with HDMI?

This is very confusing and I don’t really know what this is happening, but this has always happened. Basically if I try to start my pc with my DP or both connected to my GPU, my monitor doesn’t have signal. It only gets signal with only the HDMI is connected. But after my HDMI is connected and the monitor has signal, I am able to connect my DP to the monitor and use it. Anyone know why this is happening?

Why are you trying to connect both outputs to the same monitor ?
Is the DP connector from the GPU or from MB ?
What are your PC specs. ?

Hey, sorry for the late reply, I thought I had made it work but I was wrong.

1. Im not trying to connect both outputs, I just want the display port connected. But usually when I start up with the DP it says no signal ( it might be a faulty DP but I got it from buying the monitor. )
2. Both are being connected to the GPU
3. 1050ti, 16gb ram, i3 8350k, msi z370M gaming pro ac
