Monitor or TV for gaming setup?

I'd go with the single monitor setup. A single 7850 (or just about any single card for that matter, especially one with only 2gb of vram) will not be able to run 3x monitors on high or better settings (you'd probably have to go with medium or low). Also, it's cheaper so just go with a single monitor.

The monitor would look sharper since it has a higher density of pixels. ~2 million pixels (roughly how many pixels are in 1080p) spread out across 27" is more dense than ~2 million pixels spread out across 39". The difference in image quality really depends on the distance you will be from the display as well. If you are playing from across the room on your couch, for example, just go with the bigger display. If you are gaming at a desk or something close, go with the smaller display since up-close it will look better than a larger display.

I thought that but the monitor is more expensive than the tv, so I thought since both were the same resolution that is would look about the same. The monitor I would be right in front of, the tv would be 2 or 3 metres away so I thought the distance would make the tv look smaller which means better resolution. I want a big display with good resolution and I dont want to go over $300. Thats why im having trouble deciding because of the pros and cons of each. Theyre pretty equal

Like I said, it depends on how you are going to use it. If you want to be close, get the monitor. If you want to be further away, get the TV. At those respective distances, you will be looking at basically identical image quality.

What type of gaming do you do? If it's fast-paced, you'll probably want a monitor. See these articles about input lag on TVs...
