Hi,

Just got my new OLED LG45GR95 and I plugged the power to the wall and after that into the monitor, was this wrong order. Realized immediately that with some products it should always be power cable to the monitor and then to the power outlet.

Could I have damaged something heard a small electric sound when I plugged the power cable to the monitor.

Sorry for being nervous this is just too much money to mess up...

Yes.

What you heard was an electric arc. You should avoid doing so. Plug to the device first, then plug into the wall with the wall socket in the off position, only to turn it on after you've made sure the connection was secure/snug/fully seated into it's receptacle.

If there is some damage would it be noticeable straight away or did I mess the monitor now. What should I check, could the error manifest later. Also will at affect only the power of the monitor or also the panel itself. Didn't pay enough attention, im always more cautious. Shouldnt the monitors have safe mechanism for these, since didnt notice a warning message or hear people talk too much about it.

My simracing wheelbase have the warning not to plug power last to the unit if there is power on, or hotswap. This is why I panicked straight away.
