Monitor problems

My XP monitor is blank. Power is going through but the screen is blank. Please help.

Make sure the cables are connected well to the back of the monitor, the PC, and the wall outlet.

Does the screen come on but then go blank? If so, boot into safe mode and change the desktop settings to 800x600 and try again.
