I’ve been having a problem with my gpu for a while. I can still hear everything and even talk for a while, my keyboard, mouse and computer still have power but the monitor shows “No Signal”. After that I make a force restart on my pc but sometimes it needs more than one because the gpu won’t even start. This problem started to become very frequent to the point that I can no longer ignore it. I am almost sure that the gpu is the problem, the temperature is fine , the cpu works, I tried with the most recent drivers I tried with old drivers and tried other solutions online but nothing works… I have vr, I don’t know if it can be a reason to the problems? I can always ask for the warranty, but I first wanted to try to resolve this issue one more time.

Specs:

Motherboard: B450 Gaming Plus Max (all the ram slots are populated)
CPU: Ryzen 9 5900X
GPU: Radeon RX 6800 XT
PSU: Corsair RM850x
Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE
Case: Kolink Inspire K7 ARGB

i currently have that same issue on a 4090, with some games(most demanding?), like cyberpunk 2077, it loses the picture but everything else keeps working, including the audio.

after a lot of wailing and knashing of teeth, i figured out that it's the hdmi cable... pretty bizarre, because this is a gen2 optical hdmi cable that i paid $90 for, and i think that it still works fine with a 3080ti.

anyway, the point is to troubleshoot by swapping parts around, like the video cable and the video card... try putting the card in a different computer, etc.

try a different hdmi cable the plastic sleeving on some hdmi cables can be to thick and get to close to the pc case and wont actually reach all the way in normally gets stuck on the rounded bumps

2 ways to solve it are

1. a thinner cable head on the hdmi

2.
steps
1. lay case on its side this is so that the weight of the card doesnt damage the pci slot.
2. loosen the card from the back of the case a little bit so it can move a bit.
3. gently move the card so that the hdmi ports are centred.
4. hold card in that position and tighten up the loosen screws.
5. replug hdmi back in and check if clearance is fine then boot up system.

( i had this issue with a arecool case the bumps get getting in the way of the hdmi in my case method 2. worked but ive had to sometimes just buy a thinner headed cable with less plastic around the head.

I doubt that the problem is the cable, I already changed the hdmi to display port and the problem still persists. I have two reason that makes me pretty sure that the gpu is the problem:
First- My vr (valve index) is connected to my gpu and when the gpu loses signal my whole vr turns off.
Second- After a while (already when the black screen happens) my friends stop hearing me on discord.(I think the OS hangs)

Having the same issue and been plagued by it for months, you ever find a fix?
