Alright so as the title says I've run into this problem. I recently got a new monitor (MSI Optix AG32C) and it's been pretty smooth sailing, but every few times once my computer goes into sleep mode after being inactive for awhile, there's a chance it switches to 1024 x 768 even though the monitor is set to 1920 x 1080. It's happened twice and both times I fixed with just pulling the plug and putting it back in (DisplayPort). I have no idea what's going on or if I should switch DVI or something, but I don't want this to turn out to anything bad.

Asking to clarify from your post and make sure I get it right; when this happens have you checked the resolution settings in Windows? Does it show 1920 x 1080 despite the display actually being 1024 x 768?

If Windows shows the right resolution that the monitor is supposed to be running at in the settings and the picture is different it might be a graphics or monitor issue. It also might be a graphics driver bug.

As you said it's worth it to see if this happens with DVI/HDMI too or not.

Is the graphics driver the latest version? Also any driver for the monitor, is it updated? I would suggest you use DDU and remove the graphics driver completely and do a clean install of the latest version driver again.
