i have 2 benq monitors, one connected with hdmi and the other dvi. the dvi connected monitor shows in catalyst control center as a monitor and at 1920 x 1080 res. but the hdmi connected display is being recognized as a hdtv at 1080p res, im trying to get the hdmi display to be recognized as a monitor and not an hdtv. please help!

Solution

So youre saying that if you play games on the monitor the scaling is done gpu side, but when you play on the "hdtv" the scaling is done monitor-side?
To sort it do this:
1 In AMD control centre (right click desktop) click on the my digital flat panels menu and select properties (digital flat panel) and choose the display you want to configure
2 Check the enable gpu scaling box
3 Choose the GPU Scaling method desired and click on Apply. There are three different GPU scaling modes that can be selected...
i dont know if it makes a difference or not but but when i play games on 4:3 the monitor automatically stretches the game to the screen while the hdtv keeps the ratio and i have to manually stretch the image

Turn on 'aspect ratio' in your drivers to prevent that (for the offending display).

i dont know how to do it through catalyst control center, there doesnt seem the be an option, i have to use the buttons on my monitor to change display from 1:1 to full because it automatically changes to 1:1 when the game is launched
