I Have a 144 kHz monitor with G-Sync.
What rate should I run it at.
If I am getting average 80fps in a game should I turn it down to 60 or 120 kHz.
What I'm saying is should i try and match the KHz to the FPS or just leave it at 144. Or does it not make much of a difference.

it doesnt make a difference unless you are playing at high resolutions that requires high refresh rates then you would have to put it at 144 .. other than that the refresh rate you place the monitor is not really important .. for example .. if a gameplays at 1920x1080 @60 hz then you will be fine with the monitor at 60hz but if the games is at 1920x1080 @ 85hz and the monitor is at 60hz you will be getting a frequency out of range message on the monitor...

What happens if you your monitor is only 60hz?

well you will be getting the frequency out of range everytime you launch the game ..however there is a way to get inside the game and adjust the frequency to play at 60hz .. what you would do is right click on the game on the desktop >>>properties >> compatibility and check run in 640x480 screen resolution >>apply then ok .. the game will then be able to open but at will be running at 640x480 and will look bulgy .. you would then navigate to the video\graphics section of the game and set the resolution you want and then make sure the frequency is at 60hz and apply.. thats it
